In 2006, a Kimball Scholarship Fund grant to the History Department of Gordon College funded a study of Topsfield and the Civil War. The research was done by Emily Marsan, a student, and her academic advisor, Professor David Goss. A paper was delivered by Professor Goss at a meeting of the Topsfield Historical Society on October 26, 2006. A display presentation was installed at the Topsfield Town Library.
